Electrical System Services
On today's complex vehicles some of the most difficult diagnostics and repairs that are needed are electrical faults – not to mention the most expensive. This is especially why you want and need a knowledgeable technician working on your vehicle, because “guesswork” is simply unacceptable.
Charging and Starting systems are the most common electrical problems. The starting system is combined of a power source (battery), selectable switch (ignition circuit) and a starter motor to crank the engine over. The charging system in most vehicles is simply the alternator that takes the engine mechanical power & converts it to electrical power to sustain all of the vehicle electrical needs while running and to charge the battery. If you think that you may be having a charging or starting system malfunction some key items to look out for would be an illuminated warning light, low reading voltage gauge, slow engine cranking or funny noises. If you have any questions or concerns about your electrical system, ask a Curt's Service Technician to check your vehicle over to prevent it from becoming an immovable object.
Curt’s Service Recommends checking your Electrical System every 3 years.
