Auto AC & Heating Repair & Maintenance
Contrary to popular belief, A/C systems do not need to be periodically charged to keep them working properly. When an A/C system fails to cool properly it could be one of many different component failures such as a leak in the Freon gas system, restriction or pressure failure, or one of many other electrical component failures. Curt's Service is one of the few service facilities in the Oak Park area with the parts access and certification to service both newer R-134A and older R-12 AC systems, allowing us to keep nearly any vehicle’s A/C systems like new. You can also count on Curt’s Service for Ultraviolet coolant leak detection systems which uncover very small leaks and provide preventative maintenance to avoid larger cooling problems.
Curt’s Service recommends checking your air conditioning & heating systems at the onset of each change in season.
Don’t get left out in the cold!
If your car’s heating system is not working properly, there are a number of problems which could be causing deeper damage to your vehicle. To ensure larger problems don’t occur, have Curt's professionally trained technicians inspect your heating system operation at the first sign of a faulty heater. Don’t forget to ask a Curt's Service staff member if your vehicle is equipped with new HVAC component called a cabin air filter. Cabin air filters were introduced to certain "high line" vehicles in the early 1990's but have been introduced to most current vehicle and will be standard in all makes and models as of 2010.
Cabin air filters are designed to filter the air before it comes out of the vents, purifying potentially harmful contaminants out of the air for passengers. Also note that it protects your HVAC system from component failure such as blend air door problems, heater and A/C evaporator core contamination, any of which could cause premature air filter failure resulting in very costly repairs.
